I studied film in London. The real education happened on set.
I’m Petar Genchev. My job is to bring the ship into harbour, whatever the storm. I believe in precision, deadlines and giving every idea the cinematic language it deserves.
I’m Petar Genchev. My path into cinema began in the first film class at Sofia Film Fest on the Coast, led by Nadezhda Koseva. My experience includes producing, directing, cinematography, editing, production organisation, lighting and working as part of a film crew.

The Fixer
Equipment fails, schedules change and decisions cannot wait. Creative ego is useless without the ability to find a solution on the move. On set, I think about the entire process — from the first frame to the final delivery.

Every project is a commitment. Behind the camera are preparation, discipline and responsibility for the time and vision of the people I work with.
The meaning behind the frame.
Cinema is a way to offer hope and meaning. In absurd comedy, drama or advertising, I look for the story that stays with a person after the credits.

In the card game, Black Peter is the one left at the end. To me, that is the person who takes responsibility when others step away. You have an idea. Let’s find its image.
Film class — Talantino
In 2024 I led a film class at Talantino theatre school. Together we created a visual interpretation of The Unspoken Words and the pilot for Students’ Troubles.
